Most organizations opt for bespoke development to get their needs fulfilled and get a unique software custom made to their requirements. Such a software is unique for the organization it belongs to. These days, there are lot of unique emerging needs that require special software. Generic software would not suffice for many organizational needs and it can become even more troublesome if a generic software is installed in such cases.
For bespoke web development, the requirements analyst first takes note of all the user requirements that are clear at that time before starting the actual development process. The requirement document is reviewed and approved by the client and only then development starts. As the development continues, the client is kept in constant touch with the process.
Because of constant communication, the client can see the software grow and suggest the necessary changes while it is still feasible for the developers to make them. This results in better quality and better client satisfaction.
I don't know how many of my fellow VOXer's read Team Vox's latest post but there is now a free version of Typepad called Typepad Micro.
I'm guessing with the prevalence of Twitter (@grantalias), Six Apart wanted to get into the micro blog / status site. We all knew this was eventual since their acquisition of Pownce's earlier this year.
I've done a test post on my Typepad Micro so you can see what it looks like.
You can have links to all your online sites like flickr, Vox, Facebook & Twitter. Those of us from Vox will find it very familiar. I wish it could automatically pull data from those services. It would certainly save some time for the user.
Unfortunately (like Vox) you can't pull Facebook photos but unlike Vox you can't pull photos from any service or video sites for that matter (which you can do on Vox), unless you use embed code. Unlike Twitter there isn't an ecosystem of third parties developing sites like Twitpic to close the short comings.
The only real saving grace is that you can use the Typepad iPhone app to post while on the go (which is how I composed my first post). You can link it to both Twitter and Facebook with manual or automatic posting to each service as you wish is nice. To bad it won't cross post to my Vox account. Too bad there is not a Vox app like this. And no Blog It does not count. Don't even get me started there.
Since it's Typepad you can import and export your blog to or from it. With Vox there is no such ability and I'm pretty much screwed if I ever want to move anywhere else.
UPDATE 11/24/2009
I've discovered that you can seemingly cross post from VOX to Typepad Micro (along with other LiveJournal) . I have not posted enough to actually see it work but some of you might find it interesting. My main goal was to see if I could then export my posts, but it doesn't seem possible. Maybe it's only for the paid version.

Since last decade, the world has been shrinking to a smaller place. The advent of the Internet has brought significant changes in global economy. More opportunities are available to all and a lot of business is now conducted through the Internet. All businesses, irrespective of the industry they belong to have benefited from this revolution. This increased exposure has also increased the competition between businesses at an international level. It is due to this competition, that businesses are always on their toes and working towards the betterment in all process areas including customer satisfaction.
With the increasing size and complexity of businesses, the need for ERP software development has also grown. An Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is a type of business support system. It has a large database containing data related to the various business functions of a single business. The data can be related to manufacturing, supply chain management, accounts, HR and CRM.
An ERP software helps the employees of an organization to access the data related to other departments without having to ask for it from the responsible persons. The administrator can set the access permissions and data can be accesses by the different employees of the organization if and when required.
Any medium to large size organization must go for ERP software development for their company because it makes things organized and convenient, saves a lot of time and bandwidth. There are some generalized ERP packages also available in the market, but getting a customized one developed for your company is both simpler and affordable.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer launched
the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system called Windows 7 on the
22nd of October in New York City. Compared to the previous
launchings, the event of Windows 7 release, was less hyped. It was a short
one-hour event and a single speaker was available to address the audience. The new Live Movie Maker completely
rebuilt for Windows 7 was showcased in the launch event. The Live Movie Maker is
not bundled along with Windows 7 but can be downloaded free of cost from Windows
Live as a part of the Live Essentials Suite. Another interesting feature of the
new Windows 7 is the “Play To” feature. Windows 7 supports DLNA (Digital Living
Network Alliance) certified devices and can stream media content, music, video
and pictures from the Windows 7 PC after detecting the compatible devices
automatically in the home network. About 8 million enthusiasts were
chosen for using Windows 7 before the release to ensure that it is beta tested
thoroughly. Microsoft has taken special care to ascertain that new OS works well
with peripheral devices.Even though Windows Vista, the previous version,
received a lukewarm response from the computer user fraternity, Windows 7 has
been eagerly awaited. Windows 7 has even broken the past records for the biggest
‘pre-order item’ at Amazon.com in UK. Using Windows 7 can be quite a
delight as it works faster with the UAC issue and compatibility issues of
Windows Vista being fixed. This post is written by a webmaster
from a dotnetnuke development company.
I've posted Ben Hecks creations many, many times and the man is just amazing. Yea, he's the guy that created the Xbox 360 and PS3 laptops among tons of other awesome gadgets. Thanks to The Engadget Show we learn a little more about the man.
David Levy thinks so. He is the author of Love and Sex With Robots and he's all for it. I'm not too sure about that, hmmm, well.......hmmmm....maybe not.
And yes, it does travel in time...or at least to another part of the Crysis world. Mr geek, I salute you!
